Everything you need to place business with Trident.
Three filed programmes, one underwriting desk, one portal. This page is the index — appetite has its own page because it deserves more room than a summary paragraph.
Product availability.
| Line | Availability | Filed effective | Appetite guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| Personal auto | North Carolina | Current filed programme | Auto appetite |
| CPP business package | Oklahoma | 01/01/2026 · General Rules ed. 07/01/2025 | CPP appetite |
| Workers’ compensation | 24 states, NCCI class-based | Varies by state | WC appetite & class codes |
Availability changes as new states are filed. If a state is not listed, call your underwriter before you quote — do not assume it will be added on the timeline you need.
What a clean submission needs.
-
Check appetite first
Confirm the class and the state against the appetite guide before you spend time on an application. It names what we want, what needs a referral, and what we decline outright.
-
Complete the application in full
Incomplete payroll, vehicle schedules or property values are the single largest cause of a submission bouncing back for clarification instead of a quote.
-
Attach loss runs on any renewal-of-expiring risk
Five years where available. A risk with an undisclosed loss history is treated as a referral, not a decline — but it will cost you turnaround time.
-
Submit through the Agency Portal
Portal submissions route straight to an underwriter with the risk already in the system. Email and fax submissions are accepted but take longer to key in.
More than a quoting login.
Commission schedules
New business and renewal commission rates by line, published in the Agency Portal and confirmed in your appointment agreement.
Marketing & quoting resources
Co-brandable flyers, rate cards and quote comparison sheets for each product, kept current with the filed programme.
Training & certification
Onboarding walkthroughs for the Agency Portal, plus product certification for CPP and workers’ comp before you quote your first risk.
Loss control services
Site surveys, ergonomic assessments and return-to-work planning come with every workers’ comp policy at no extra premium — a retention tool you can offer, not upsell.
