Coverage rated the way payroll actually happens.

Every employee is assigned an NCCI class code, every code carries its own rate, and premium moves with payroll instead of a once-a-year guess. That is the whole system, and it is the same system whether the business has three employees or three hundred.

How it’s rated

Three numbers decide the premium.

Class code

Every job an employee actually does gets its own NCCI code and its own rate. A roofer and a bookkeeper at the same company are rated separately, because they are separate risks.

Experience modification

A factor built from three years of the business’s own claims history. Below 1.00 lowers the premium; above 1.00 raises it. It moves with the safety record, not the industry average.

Payroll

The exposure basis. Rate per class code is applied to actual payroll in that class — not headcount, not revenue, not an estimate made twelve months early.

How we work with you

The parts that happen after the policy is bound.

Billing

Pay-as-you-go

Premium is calculated from actual payroll each pay period, reported through your existing payroll provider. No large deposit, no audit surprise.

End of term

Premium audit

Because pay-as-you-go tracks real payroll all year, the audit reconciles small differences instead of a full-year estimate against reality.

Included, not upsold

Loss control

Site surveys and ergonomic assessments come with every policy. Preventing a claim is cheaper than paying one, so it is not a paid add-on.

First notice of loss

24-hour nurse triage

An injured employee reaches a registered nurse immediately, day or night, before a claim is even opened. Faster triage means a faster return to work.

After an injury

Return-to-work programme

A structured path back to modified or full duty, built with the employer, because employees who stay connected to work recover faster than those who do not.

Beyond the state limit

Employers liability

Covers the employer directly for a work-related injury claim that falls outside the state comp system — a third-over, or a suit by a family member.

What it looks like when it works

The premium follows the safety record, not the other way around.

Contractor · Wilmington, NC

Experience mod down from 1.18 to 0.91 in three years.

Quarterly site walks, a rebuilt toolbox-talk programme and nurse triage on every strain. Their premium followed their safety record down.

Manufacturer · Sioux Falls, SD

A strained back was back on light duty in nine days.

Nurse triage the same shift, a modified-duty plan the same week. The claim closed before it became an expensive one.

Questions

Workers’ comp, answered

Rating mechanics are the same everywhere we write; the rate itself is state-specific.

Which states is this filed in?
Around 24 states today, built on NCCI class codes and loss costs. See the current list — the filed programme set is the authoritative source, not this page.
How does pay-as-you-go actually work?
Each pay period, your payroll provider reports actual wages by class code and premium is calculated on that number, not an estimate taken a year in advance.
What happens at the premium audit?
We reconcile reported payroll against actual payroll records for the term. Because pay-as-you-go already tracks real payroll, the audit is usually a small adjustment rather than a large one.
Does loss control cost extra?
No. Site surveys, ergonomic assessments and return-to-work planning are included with every policy we write.
